Face-to-face event, 19 May 2026

Application deadline:

Objectives:

The seminar is aimed at young researchers in the humanities and cultural studies who are working on their theses on the historical region of Moldavia and/or the Republic of Moldova. This year, topics dealing with aspects of memory culture are particularly welcome. Short presentations will provide insights into the current state of research.

The objectives are

  1. an interdisciplinary thematic and methodological exchange between participants and
    invited experts;
  2. the establishment of a professional network of young researchers from Moldova,
    Germany and other countries;
  3. the publication of the projects on the website of the International Forum Moldova with
    the possibility of subsequent publication in academic journals.

  • a brief description of your project (half a page),
  • a CV,
  • a copy of your degree certificate

Important information:

The organisers will cover the costs of accommodation, meals and local transfers. We assume that travel expenses will be covered by the supervising university/research institution; if this is not possible, please be sure to indicate this in your application. In exceptional cases, travel expenses may also be covered.

Schedule:

  • Arrival day in Chișinău: 18 May 2026, overnight stay in Chișinău
  • On 19 May, morning transfer from Chișinău to Bălți and junior researcher seminar,
    overnight stay in Bălți
  • On 20 May, excursion and return to Chișinău in the evening, overnight stay in Chișinău
