The International Forum Moldova (IFM) will discuss the history, present and future of the Republic of Moldova in its European dimensions.
– Discussion formats
– Scientific conference
– Workshops
– Excursion
In view of the radically changed security situation in the greater region since 2014/2022, the granting of candidate country status for the European Union in June 2022 and in the run-up to the upcoming elections in fall 2024 (presidential elections, referendum on EU membership) and spring 2025 (parliamentary elections), the European community’s interest in the Republic of Moldova has increased significantly.
Based on these developments, the International Forum Moldova, with its public discussion formats, an academic conference, four workshops and an excursion to the autonomous region of Gagauzia, offers a forum for dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and Central European partners on several closely linked levels. The focus is on a historically based and at the same time future-oriented exchange between actors at the interface between academia, civil society, culture, politics and journalism.
The IFM 2024 is intended to be the prelude to long-term academic and civil society cooperation formats at a transnational and European level, which will be developed and continued on the basis of the experience, contacts and objectives gathered during the event.
The scientific conference will be held in hybrid form.
Please note that the times shown in the program refer to local time in the Republic of Moldova (Eastern European Time, UTC+02:00).
